Edna Deveau Obituary

Edna Marie Deveau, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on March 11, 2024, at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. She was born on October 1, 1944, in Meteghan Station, Nova Scotia, to Henri and Lorette. Edna was a loving and devoted wife to Gerald Deveau and a cherished mother to her daughters Marlayne, Tina (husband John), Karen (husband Carmen), Glenda, son Jason, stepdaughter Cindy (husband Joey), and her grandchildren Danyelle, Kayla, Brandon, Jason Lee, step-grandchildren Samuel, Renée, Vincent, and Destini. She was also a caring sister to Kenneth and Elaine.

Edna's life was filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. She had a passion for reading, playing bingo, and watching General Hospital. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially during their Sunday suppers. Her kind-hearted nature and unwavering love for her children and grandchildren knew no bounds. Edna's presence brought warmth and comfort to all who knew her, and her absence will be deeply felt by her family and friends.

In addition to her immediate family, Edna leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be carried on by those who were fortunate enough to have known her. She was predeceased by her parents, Henri and Lorette, and her brothers Lawrence and Eddie.

A graveside service and celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor and remember Edna's life. Her family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Drs. Rasmussen, Deveau, Janzen, and MacDonald, as well as the incredible nurses in the ICU at Yarmouth Hospital for their compassionate care during Edna's time of need.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Western Counties Regional Library in honor of Edna's love for reading. Edna's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, and her legacy will continue to inspire kindness and love for generations to come. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
