Colin was born May 31, 1945 in Regina, Sask. and lived his childhood in Montreal. He died March 11, 2024 in Halifax, NS. Predeceased by his sister Kathryn, mother Reeva and father Stuart. Survived by his brothers Ron (Joy), Kevin, and Stewart; his wife of 50 years (Merle Emms), daughter Emily Cooper (Ben Urwin) of Montreal, son Ian (Halifax), and grandchildren Danica, Lilly and Levi. No funeral was held at his request and cremation has taken place.
The family wishes to thank the many devoted health care professionals who helped him over the years including Dr. Donald Fay, Halifax and those at the VON wound clinic on Bayer’s Road. We are truly grateful, as well, to all those who offered him skilled, compassionate, and respectful care during his recent hospitalization at the QE II/Halifax Infirmary ER, ICU, and Intermediate Care Units 4.1 and 7.1.
In his career, Colin worked in Montreal at the Reader’s Digest, then moved to Charlottetown, PEI to work first with the CBC affiliate CFCY Radio and then as legislative reporter for CBC Radio and TV (1973) in Charlottetown. His career continued with CBC-TV News Halifax (1980-1985) and then CBC-TV News (English Service) in Montreal from 1985-2000. He retired to Halifax, NS in 2000.
